Hey, just over 2 weeks to order, just want some poeple's opinions on the hardware/changes or anything like that

p.s. please dont critisise about the amount of money im spending :) my choice and i have thought about it.

X6800 2.93ghz extreme edition

EVGA nForce 680i Mobo

EVGA 8800 GTX x2

Creative Xfi extreme gamer

Corsair 2gb XMS2 8500+

Western Digital 150gb 10k rpm

Hitachi 500gb SATA II (x2 going in raid)

Plextor 18x18 dual layered DVD-RW x2

Tuniq tower cpu cooler

Corsair 620w PSU x2

Raid controller card

Lian li PC-A10B Black

p.s really psyced about this rig :D
 
I dont think you will need a RAID controller card as this motherboard should have its own one built in. You may have to set up a RAID driver disk, so you can install the RAID drivers when you are installing windows when you have to press F6.

Why are you buying 2 Corsair PSUs? Why dont you purchase one of the big 1000 watters from Enermax or BFG?

hmm, good call on the first paragraph.. and as for the 2 psu's i love the PC-A10 case, and i mean LOVE :cool: it, so im going for 2 PSU's, no different apart from more cables :) and the rig is big enough to hold em all.
 
Well if you want two PSU's then go for it, although I'm not sure weather you will benefit as there will be twice as much heat, noise etc.
 
i use headphones (the razor ones) so im not fussed about sound, and as for cooling, im sure it wouldnt be much of a issue, the room it will be in is kept at a constant temp of around 15-20C.
 
I was just thinking of warm air in the case and two PSU's having an impact on the airflow, like I said, if you want two PSU's and can stump up the reddies for it then go for it.
 
Great cooler, best one out there at the moment, a little more expensive than AF7 Pro etc but probably worth the extra money, especially if you are going to overclock.

i will :) ill be takeing pics through the entire build at each minor stage so that poeple can use it for guides. order on the 21st (so excited), so should be at my house for 22/23rd if im lucky, will take me 3 days to build (i have very strict rules when it comes to building rigs... have to be very neat and double check everything)
