I desperately need someone to hold my hand and help me overclock my new system as the last time I overclocked a CPU was when Lynnfield and the P55 chipset had just been released. For those with good memories MSI and OCUK ran a promotion at the time on half priced motherboards. I'd never seen so many people on the forum smashing the F5 key come 1PM!.. Ah memories!

I digress.. Back to topic..

New PC spec -

MB - MSI Z87 GD65 Gaming
CPU - i5-4670K
Memory - Patriot Viper "Black Mamba" 4*4GB 1600MHz
Cooling - Corsair H100
Case - Corsair 600T SE
PSU - Corsair HX+ 750

All I've done so far is increase Vcore to 1.25V, change the multiplier to x45 and enabled XMP for the memory.

Anything past that is beyond my know how and all this talk of BCLK, PLL, CPU cache etc just makes my head hurt but explained properly I'm confident I could get to grips with it all.

Any help to get the most out of this cpu and motherboard would be greatly appreciated.

Your doing fine so far. Your memory is 1600 so leave that as is. Try pushing multi further and test again say 46. You get any issues raise Vcore a touch and keep an eye on temps.

Ideally Uncore ratio for 4.5 Overclock wants to be around 4.2 for great performance. Once you have found max CPU speed then push Uncore. For this you will probably need around 1.3 Ring Voltage.
