Hi,
After some helpful comments in this and other threads this is what I'm planning to buy:
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-5300C4 667MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit £32.89
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775) £17.61
Intel Core 2 Duo E2200 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.20GHz (800FSB) - Retail £57.56
This is all getting plugged in to an ASROCK DualVSTA mobo with an AGP 6600GT and a couple of SATA 80gb drives.
This is a stop gap system. I'll try and OC the E2200 for what I can. I appreciate the mobo is not a good OC'er but apparently the multiplier on the E2200 gives better options than an E6000 series cpu.
I know I'm going to need the Arctic for later but I do wonder if I can get by with the stock cooler for now?
Plan is to buy an new mobo in a few months along with PCIe and a quad. I assume I can use the Geil still?
Anyway, final comments would be appreciated to I can order late tonight for shipping it out tomorrow.
Thanks for all the help.
Andy
