Im having problems connecting this old mac mini to the new router.

The mac mini can see the ssid of router no problem but whenever i type in the correct wpa2 password it says its incorrect even though im 1000% sure it is right. I even asked 2 other people to check the key

I tried rebooting the mini and router and nothing has changed. Im not used to using macs so I dont know where to look at. Any advice will be appreciated.

Wireless mode in the router is Auto with b/g protection ticked so I dont think its a g/n mode problem.

The mac mini was able to connect to my old routers Dlink DSL-2780 (Talktalk router) and Netget DG834GT with no problems.

Other windows -based PCs and android mobiles can connect immediately with no problems at all

Thanks

I didnt. I changed the ssid and password in the new router.
In the mac mini I deleted all saved wireless networks to make sure there were no conflicts

Make sure you're Mini settings aren't typed in manually (ie IP address). DHCP the lot of them.

Maybe delete your airport from network settings and add it again, that should default all the values in there.

Sounds absurd, but have you checked the service order and made sure that wifi is at the top? I have had this fix connection issues a few times.

Thanks will try both and will also do a router reset just to make sure. Hopefully it will be fixed.

If those don't work you may have to change the security mode on your router, I've seen OSX and iOS get tripped up over protocols for no reason whatsoever *well the reason being that employees at Apple aren't doing their jobs properly.

The mini finally connected to the router :D

Thanks all to your suggestions. Clearing all the network settings in the mac mini allowed it to connect to the router for some reason lol.

Thanks again.
