Latency question - possible issue?

Hi all.
Ive recently replaced 64Gb (4 x 16) of corsair vengeance pro 3600 18-22-22-42 with 32Gb(4 x 8) of Team group ripped edition 3600 14-15-15-35.

Whilst benchmarking with Passmark Performance test, the latency result of the Corsair is 26 (95th percentile) whereas the latency of the Team group is 41 (50th percentile)
Both had DOCP on and a mild CPU overclock.

Am i totally missing something here? Surely the latency should be lower not higher? Any ideas?

Ryzen 9 5950x CPU
Ausu x570 F MB

Thanks
Dan.

3600mhz and FCLK 1800. Ive tried tweaking it to 3666 and 1833 but there's no change.

I've also brought the tFRC down from 630 to 300 which helped a little

Try decreasing those figures to 3200 and 1600 respectively.
Ok thanks, i'll try that when i get back from work this afternoon.

What's the command rate ?
Im not entirely sure as im not at the pc right now, but i think its 2T. Would it be worth changing that?

PS, Im new to memory tweaking/overclocking

Me too :D

Yes

Google 1t v 2t wil give you a better explanation.

Ok.
Decreased the speed to 3200/1600, no change.
Changed command rate from 2T to 1T, no change.
Reset DOCP to auto, no change.
Reset bios and overclock, no change.
Tested each module in each slot, no change.

:(

Im now thinking it could be a compatibility issue with the motherboard?

Have you tried measuring latency in a different tool such as Aida64? The timings can't be applying if it's staying the same. Dropping to 1T alone would make a difference.

I get '36' latency on Performance Test 10.2. This with Teamgroup 3600 C16 running 3800 C14 tight timings so seems about right.
This Performance test software seems rather garbage so its getting uninstalled now. It almost feels like software that has built in Malware from ~2000

Run AIDA64 and Zentimings to get timings. These are mine in AIDA64. It will show in AIDA64 (at the bottom of the cache and memory benchmark)

What is your BIOS version / AGESA version?

Does setting XMP in BIOS allow Windows to boot and run a default membench on DRAM-Calculator-for-Ryzen? If not then I would certainly return it.

Latest bios verson - 4021, not sure on the AGESA. I can only get windows to boot if it has four sticks. It wont boot with only two, regardless of DOCP on or off.

Ill try Membench asap.

Thanks.

Have you tried running XMP, that doesnt look like XMP for 3600 14-15-15-35 as its running 3733Mhz / 1867 IF. Unless that's what four sticks does
Latency looks a bit high for C14 so possibly gear down mode is kicking in. Try running it at rated XMP specs (3600 / 1800 IF) with GDM disabled

If it's a new board and you haven't updated the BIOS it's almost always this. This was the problem for me just a few weeks ago.

It's one of the first things I usually do on a new build.
