Just installed 1807 BIOS from 1408 to my Asus P7P55D board, and can confirm...

It was a HUGE error.

As soon as the Bclk is changed 150 or above, the SpeedStep option is automatically disabled. You cannot change it back.

Just tried to downgrade my BIOS too... won't let me.

Asus... WHY!!!!!

Okay, rant/sulk over.

Found lots of people at the Asus forum with the same issue. Some American chap had created some modified BIOS which I decided to go for, and it worked - downgraded my BIOS to original. Now gone back to 1408 as before and working.

I always RAVE about Asus, but am now not so sure...

Officially it seems:
1) You can no longer officially downgrade your BIOS.
2) You can no longer enable SpeedStep with a Bclk over 149.

Unofficially it seems:
THIS IS RUBBISH!

Right - am off to relax again now, phew

What's the point in enforcing that? SpeedStep works fine with overclocked CPUs. Thanks for the heads-up though - I'll make sure they haven't done the same thing the next time a BIOS update is released for my motherboard.

You can enable speedstep in 1807.
You have to do it from the CPU config menu.

make it the last thing you do in the BIOS, because if you go back to the AiTweaker menu it will disable it again.
