Does any owner of a Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-9 motherboard have the latest K8DPS daughterboard that uses a 'fanless heatpipe' system in place of the fan mounted version?

I have just fitted a new CPU cooler and it comes extremely close to the fan on my K8DPS board, I am looking to dispense with the fan on the K8DPS and see if I can fit a passive heatsink or replace the board with the latest version.

A review on the X-Bit Labs website mentioned that one could actually remove the cooler from the card without causing any problems!

If anyone knows where I could view an image of the latest K8DPS used with the GA-K8NXP-9 I would be grateful, I have done a search on Google without success so far.

It says the that review that the DPS system doesnt actually affect the board

Our practical tests of the 6-channel CPU voltage regulator (with a daughter card) against the 3-channel one (without the daughter card) showed that the mainboard performed identically in both cases. The more powerful CPU voltage regulator doesn’t even affect the processor’s overclocking potential. So, this K8DPS card will hardly contribute anything to the system performance, and all you will get is just impressive looks. Moreover, you should keep in mind that the installed K8DPS card may prevent you from using massive CPU cooling systems.

:p You dont need to even have it in

One of the reasons I posted the URL link was because of the references to the DPS, I am now wondering if it is supplied so that we can have a pretty blue led when the fan is running! ;)

I will be removing the motherboard from the case to fit a new Northbridge cooler so might also remove the K8DPS at the same time and see what happens performance wise.
