latest nvidia drivers

so i went to play day of defeat source today.. and it comes up with the warning i don't have the latest graphics driver. go to the nvidia website, it detects i need to download and install driver 84.64 for my sli enabled 7900 GO laptop cards.

i download, proceed to install but then nvidia stops and erros saying
"the NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. setup will now exit".

has anyone got any idea where it's doing this? or how to get around it? the driver after has been written for my precise card!

i'm a bit confused to where to go to fix it. I hope one of you has a solution!!

go to: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
manually select your OS, you card and your language... and download the latest... (I saw in your sig that you are using XP... so that will be the 169.21...
84.64 are like 3 years old LOL!!

just downloaded the driver as you said manually.. still the same error.

any other suggestions?

thats because they are GO graphics cards and dont use the normal drivers. the last officials were probably those 84.64's thus it telling you to.

i would just use the tweaked drivers availible elsewhere and stay away from official ones.

You'll have to look on the manufactures website. The latest ones for the 7950GTX in my M1710 under XP are 94.22 on vista they're 161.75. The vista ones suck balls ¬_¬

The Steam warning is just that, a warning. You can still play it with older drivers and skip the nagging popups.
