Thats great news. I have to spend £1200 on fencing the wife's pond with her precious koi carp 60ft x 40ft and incorporate the dogs run along with it. Reason we had a heron which she caught pinching one of her biggest fish the other day, so she had me out with the shotgun at 4am for the last three mornings
So, by the time I've spent and built it, I'll be ready to save up and buy a 4870x2

ps: For gawd sake don't shoot the heron, Damn things are protected
(a damn pain around where i live) (It 100% looked like a canadian goose Officer (now on england Defra list))

4870X2 sounds so lush but one thing I had noticed is that companys and ATI didnt really bother releasing 3rd party coolers or even ATIs cooler was tad noisy on the 3870X2.
That put me right off frankly.... same no doubt will occur for the 4870X2.
Hence I reckon perhaps a 512meg 4870XT with thermalright HR03 will be a better choice for silence users anyhow

As I am sure you are aware, Herons are protected. you are not allowed to lay a finger on them and rightfully so. We had the same problem with them fishing in the early hours. Even if you are using the shotgun to scare them, it doesn't take anything near that to do the job. As a simple, temp measure stake the ground around the pond and run a few lines of fishing wire across them, like the ropes of a boxing ring. Works a treat with herons here and at my friends house. They will realise it's there once and won't bother again in our experience.
Back on topic, that 8 weeks works out perfectly for me too as I have no cash until then!
