Please don't mention any competitor names, all I am asking for is a price if anyone has traded a Wii in over the last week or two.

I am hoping to exchange my Wii for a 360 and am sat here wondering if I should pack it up ready to take in over the next week.

So if you have traded a Wii in recently what was the price you were offered?

I traded my wii with one extra controller and one game.

I got offered for cash.

wii console - £60
extra wii controller- £12
One game - £4

I ended up trading it in for some 360 stuff instead and got.

Forza 3 ltd edition
pro evo 10
12 month xbox live

A large high street retailer is doing used Wii's for £99, so my guess would be they'd offer around £70, maybe £75 at a push.

I part exchanged mine on Friday at a large retailer and got £60 :(, they did say that prices had come right down in the last few weeks as there were so many coming in for part ex.

Looks like I may just have to take this one on the chin then and sell for less than I thought it was worth, hopefully the £81 that was mentioned in post 3 is still available.

I was going to hold off for a few weeks but with the black Wii coming out which includes the Wii motion plus and Wii Resort for £164 I can see the prices coming down even further.

My normal thought about trading in is that any price you can get is worth doing as the the price you originally pay when you buy it is offset by the amount of time you get using it, but the Wii has had a lot less use than I planned.

Damn novelty purchases. :p

Just traded in my Wii, my advice is to definitely get prices from all the places available as I found there to be quite a big difference in trade in values.

One place I went to only gave £60 and the next place gave £75, my total price for Wii, Wii Resort, EA Fitness Trainer and a Classic Controller was £114, which was £20 more than the previous shop.

Have you thought about selling it instead of trading it in? someone on here might want to buy it and its possible to sell second hand items on some large online entertainment retailers.

I didn't think there was any point really, to sell it online I would have had to add £10-£15 for postage which if you add that to the £114 I got trade-in then you are about putting a price of £130 on a second hand Wii.

In four days time you can get a brand new black Wii, with Wii resort and the motion plus accessory for £164, so I think the prices are only going to come down further for trading in.

The Black Wii is out now/very soon. I am sure this will affect trade in prices for the white one so trade it in now whilst prices are high(er).

Edit: TechnoCorruption, made the same observation earlier, I didn't read his post properly.

We sell for : £122.00
We buy for : £61.00
Give exchange : £81.00

People complaining about trade in values, look at the above from a high street trade in place. They have to differentiate between buying it and exchanging (to increase turn over of stock) and a £41 mark up isn't that much tbh.

Fair point, but in my opinion the only reason they give you a better deal when exchanging is because they are also making money on the item you are exchanging for.

I think most would agree that 100% profit on doing a test on the machine and sticking a price tag on it is a bit much.

At the end of the day I am happy with the price I was offered in the end, maybe I was being a bit hopeful with my initial value. Like I said above I am quite happy to take any money offered for a game/console as the original price is paid for a lot of usage of the item. Anything you can get when you are finished with the item is a bonus for your next purchase.

You'd be better off selling it on the members market, really.
Wouldn't sell it on ebay as you're likely to get ripped off.
Trade ins are never going to be good for the person trading in, only for the retailer.
