Latest Windows XP Updates

Hi

I'm currently running Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2 and when I turned the computer off earlier it installed 72 updates which I thought was quite a lot.
Has anyone else had to install approximately this amount of updates yesterday/today?

Do I need to upgrade to Service Pack 3 or shall I be ok for now?

You should probably upgrade to sp3. It includes a lot of updates from sp2 and any bugs have generally been ironed out by now.

I normally only get 2-3 a week!! (I am running SP3 though)

Not really surprising on an SP2 system. Most would have been incorporated into SP3 though.

Unlikely as the update regime now generally operates monthly.
