Launch games from within Windows 7 Media Center?

Is there any way to add icons, like desktop shortcuts, to the menus within Media Center on W7 that will allow me to launch them from within MC using the remote? My media PC has no keyboard or mouse, but I would like to use games (mostly Steam titles) that use the 360 pad on my TV, but have no desire to start using a keyboard or mouse, or intact using the Windows desktop at all.

Is there a way to add shortcuts to the extras menu or something?

Yes, using MC Studio. It got pulled a while back and no one seems to have heard from the author since. Details of a work around here:

You add a launch point and point it to the game executable (or a shortcut). Problem is, MC will still be running in the background when the game is running, thereby hogging resources
