Hi. Does anybody know the laws on climbing structures? ie, bridges, buildings, chimneys etc. Obviously, you'd think its wrong. which it is but what are the actual laws that are used against you in court if you were took if you were caught climbing something? What punishments can be given if your caught?

Cheers, Crossy

You thinking of climbing something?
I think you're onto something.

It depends what you try and climb but if there is nothing specific about the structure that makes for climbing it to be a criminal or civil offence you may still be committing a breach of the peace due to disturbing passers-by.

Disturbing passers by? How? :p

Cause if he falls off a tall building and hits someone they will die ?

And so the police have to close the road and keep everyone away, meaning that when he does come down he will have to be protected from a bunch of seriusly ****ed off commuters.

Also means he's wasting police time among other things.

But that's like saying if someone walks out in front of a bus the same will have to happen so they are disturbing the peace simply by walking down the road. :p

The law is flawed.

Unless he was throwing bricks at them.

Partly what Tefal says but simply that if you cause the public to stare at you while climbing you are probably going to end up blocking a pavement or road and you've caused a disturbance by doing something out of the ordinary. I'm assuming here that he is talking about climbing something worthwhile and not a park bench.

Yes but thats a acident not deliberately hanging a heavy and poorly attached weight off the side of a tall building is it :/
