Laying a bike up for 6-12 months

I've got two bikes and for financial reasons (not because I'm a wuss and winter is coming) I need to lay them up. One will be for about 6 months, one for nearly a year. They have both been SORN'ed.
How should I best prepare them for this, and what should I be doing in order to make sure that when I come to get them back on the road they aren't siezed up.

I've got a trickle charger attached to one, and I may get another for the 2nd bike.

I know I need to give them a damn good clean before storing them.

Any other tips?

If it makes a difference it's a ZZR1100 and an Africa Twin.
