I am looking to run cat6 cabling from my house to my detached garage. That would me going under this pathway. I was watching video on YouTube of a guy using a flexible Auger drill bit to go under the path and then pulling the cables through using the bit.

Worth a go or should I just lift the slabs? Drill bit is about 30 quid.

I wouldn't bother tbh. Just nail it to fence; or rake that mortar out. I've had interior grade CAT5 outside for over 10 years without issue; so proper outdoor stuff will be fine unless someone whacks it with a spade.
I should have mentioned that is a gate rather than fence but just taking out the mortar would probably be sufficient.
