Laying Flag stones

Hi all,

I have a terraced house with a yard, currently it is just loose stones/ pebbles. I want to remove all of this and put down flag stones. Where's the best place for me to buy from. Do I go to one of the larger DIY stores (B&Q, wickes etc) or do I try and find a stone mason? I want to do this as cheap as possible really.

Do you mean paving slabs, as reclaimed flagstones are expensive, very expensive.

The local builders merchant was much cheaper than B&Q etc for me. As paving stones are normally bradstone/marshall, you can easily compare prices.

Check your local paper, you sometimes get people giving them away free to anyone willing to collect.
