Lazy Start Menu / Task Bar?

Hello

Currently running a new build rig and have installed Windows 10 Pro. I've gone through 3 clean installs and each time the start menu on is curiously lazy - my cursor will circle and it will be unresponsive, seemingly indefinitely, until I repeatedly click the search box at which point my 3 taskbar short cut icons will appear, the start menu appears and then it's business as usual.

This is more of a nuisance than anything else but do you have any idea what may be causing this? Cheers.

Not sure I can really be helpful but IIRC it is something to do with the XML file used behind the scenes or something.

MS has supposedly solved it twice but stuff like this still happens in my experience - I've got a couple of older machines that are plagued by it - it will go away after a reinstall but randomly come back anywhere from a day to a few months later for no apparent rhyme or reason.

Thanks both for your replies. I had a look through those links and the solution seemed to be about installing an AppX package...

Think I'll read more about that before giving it a whirl!!
