LBP overhyped much?

Can someone clarify something to me.... LBP is basically a platform game right? Albeit one where basically you can design the levels for it and share it with others. And have multiplayer in.

Thats it yeah?

Or am i way off base and it is something much much more exciting.....

I've seen vids of levels which have racing, fighting and even some sport levels like one were you had to score a penalty to proceed

Guess i need to watch some more previews of it. Only seen 2 or 3 platformy ones.

And tbh it seemed to be a PSN type game. If you know what i mean....hrmm how do i explain..

RRP probably £30 or £40 for it? which if my suspicions are correct is hideously overpriced imo
