How can you tell the revision, is it on the rear on a sticker or part of the OSD or somewhere else?

aye, it should be on the sticker on the back.

Any reputable seller should advertise the revison number, as it is a pretty crucial detail.

How highly rated are the 27" versions, 2709w for general web use and gaming?
Is there a particular revision to go for?

They have high input lag, but I game on them all the time (literally just alt-tabbed out of a game of BF2) and I can't tell there is any input lag and there is absolutely no ghosting I can see. Therefore, I find it to be excellent for gaming.

As for general web use, its great and the S-PVA panel makes everything look beautiful.
