LCD for xmas or cheaper after?

Looking to get a big PC monitor (or HDTV for monitor use) for xmas (pressie off everyone who's buying me one, lol) and wondered if i'd be better buying in the xmas run-up, or waiting until early Jan for any sales there may be.

People think 22" LCDs will be discounted in the new year by any significant amount?

prices alway come down for electrical goods. i'm sure badass will inform us as the the tft cycle but I can guarantee 100% that prices will drop eventually.

NOTE: they usually drop a couple of days after I buy something and i just bought a
