I am confused as to what is going on. Currently I play my PC on 17 Inch CRT and my 360 on about 21 inch normal fat tele. I want to get a new one for my 360 but I am unsure about which one. Does LCD play HD or do i need a HDTV for that? Plasma/LCD-what is the difference? Could somebody clear things up about what TV does what and anything like that? Thanks.

Also, is there a difference between TFT and LCD or are they the same? And do they play HD?
Actually, correct wording is TFT LCD ;) TFT LCDs are variation of the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and they are using the Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) technology in order to improve the image quality. Also, with this technology transistors are embedded in the panel itself. So ... if you are referring to computing field, all latest generation monitors are TFT LCD and you may find the TFT LCD technology also in the latest LCD TV screens. I think that maybe from 2-3 years ago ... or so ... all screens are based on TFT LCD technology. You may find maybe rather old, outdated and cheap models who are just LCD (and without TFT technology) ... but rarely.

Now, regarding the HD ... only question is if TFT LCD can display the required HD resolution. In essence:

720p - 1280x720 progressive
1080i - 1920x1080 interlaced
1080p - 1920x1080 progressive

It's not imporant if signal is interlaced or progressive. Just focus on the resolutons.

My 2 cents ;)

I've taken a monitor description from OcUK

Viewsonic VA1912W 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver (MO-047-VS)

1440 x 900 (WXGA) Optimum Resolution

This doesnt say anything about LCD TFT, is that just OcUK being lazy or isnt it TFT?

And if im right this would be able to run 720 P right?
Thanks

LOL ... no no ... nowadays everybody is referring to them as LCD monitors. You will be fine, don't worry ;) I just tried to explain you the correct wording, but that doesn't necessarily means that everybody will name them by the book.
