Bought an LCD HDTV about 4 months ago. After spending the last couple weeks playing Football Manager '07 on the 360 on the TV, there is a visible after image of the game present on the screen - basically two lines across the top of the screen and a red tinge (been playing as Atletico Madrid
).
I've heard that with LCD's it's not really possible to burn an image like with a CRT for example, and it is in fact known as "image persistence" or "image retention".
My question is, how long is this image likely to persist? I left the TV displaying a no signal image (black/white specks, or "snow") for about 6 hours last night but the after image is still there
If the image wont go, am I likely to be able to get the screen replaced under warranty? I've read the manual and it does mention about image retention but says it is not permanent. Surely if it is permanent i.e. still there after a few weeks, I can claim it is a defect?
