LCD Monitor displaying faulty blue lines

hi All,

Yesterday my LCD monitor (a Samsung 226BW) started to display blue horizontal lines all the way down the screen. I think I had just finished a session on World of Warcraft.

So I decided to install the latest Nvidia graphics drivers for my graphics card (a GEforce 9800 GTX, PCI Express). But that did not work, and I assumed there might be a problem with the hard drive so I decided to format and re-install the PC as I had not done that in a while and my PC games list was piling up!

But I still have the problem, where even when I am re-booting, I can see dots everywhere on the screen and then when it gets into Windows, I see the 'wavy' blue horizontal lines all the way down the screen.

The Samsung monitor drivers have been installed also, and I opened the PC to make sure the cables have been pushed in properly on the gfx card. I managed to check my monitor on another PC and it works fine.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

hi vince,
Thanks for your reply. I had a feeling it might be that, is it possible the DVI cable could be at fault here?

I doubt it is the memory. I have 2x 2gb sticks of ram, I took one out and booted up - and then did the same with the other memory stick. It boots into Windows each time yet I still have the same graphics problem.

Thx
