LCD Monitor Drivers

I've just purchased my first LCD monitor after having always used a CRT.

I'm waiting for the thing to be delivered, so to become familiar I DLd the manual to have a read. It seems the monitor (all LCDs?) comes with a driver CDROM.

Will this driver be necessary? Is it generally accepted that provided drivers should be installed?? Will it work without them? Is there anything else I need to know??

I'm on XP sp3 btw.

Thanks in advance :)

I never bother installing the driver, Vista and upwards will do it for you anyway. Not sure what difference it makes as it works fine without it.

Drivers designed for monitors contain color profiles which in some cases are custom done by the company to show the best settings for RGB. So, its always good to use it rather than not.
