LCD monitor lifespan

You have 4months , 6 days and 22 hours left. Im sure they have around 50,000 hours but theres a large chance im mistaken.

On a more serious note, I installed monitors on a Medical Imaging system over 3 years ago, they run 8 hours a day 5 days a week (usually not powered down at weekends) and show no sign of age, unlike the 21" CRT's we used to install. I'm sure they do fade, but not significantly.

Like most things, they age through technology improvements faster than they wear out.

my sammys about 2years old and is feeling wear and tear, being transported about occasionally etc.
Get awful artifacts and streaks everywhere and aload of interferance sometimes, found out the perfect fix tonight, a good old manly wallop:D

My Hitachi 17" was still perfect after 4 years. But they don't make them like they used to in the old days...............

I've got a sony which is slowly falling apart only just under 3 years old. it's got strange streaking and fading lines accross the screan, not really that noticable but they weren't there when i bought it. All pixels are still fine mind, i haven't got too much to complain about...

my monitor died on me yesterday - in fact i gotta make a thread asking if it can be fixed..

in the meantime i'm using a crt which was bought around 10 years ago!! it supports the same res/hz my old crt used (which was just under 3yrs old). i'm pretty surprised that after 10 years (rarely used for the last 3 years), the crt is alive like it was born yesterday wooooooooo

mines 4 years old & still running, thou there is a slight mark on the glass, yes it's a CRT but i won't change it for anything

I have an iiyama Vision Master Pro 450

from what i can tell its 7 years or older :)

I love it, was tempted a while back (few weeks) to get a Samsung LCD thing, but then i realized there were too many things that could be wrong, dead pixels, backlight bleed, etc etc, and i didn't want all the fuss, so i got a new 80gb iPod instead :)
