Any idea how much this will cost me?

Or should I look at finally upgrading the body.

Seems the repair kits are around £20.

Anyone done it themselves? If so, is it difficult to do?

Labour alone would merit not paying for it.

When the CF catch in my 400D went the only authorised repairer in Scotland wanted £85 just to look at it! Then he reckoned cos it was an EOL body he'd have to cannibalise a new catch, which he wanted £60 for. Oh and he said he was like ~£20/h and couldn't say how long the job would take...

Easier to send the damned thing back to Japan with a polite letter XD

Looks a pretty simple job on Youtube, might give it a go myself.

Changed it over, wasn't too difficult, 30 minutes of careful work.

New screen does it's job, though it's noticeably of lower quality than the OE item.
