LCD screen tinkering...

Hi, I got hold of a few parts of some faulty monitors and have been trying to get something out of them.

I've got two of the drawing processor board things, of which I really think one works - as it either displays (depending on which power board I use) a full bright white screen, or show the correct image for about two seconds and then blank out...

What makes me think that something could work is that with one power supply board, The monitor seems to work perfectly except that it only works for 2 seconds then cuts out, and the same when turned on/off again. With the other power board, the screen is pure, brilliant white, and at one stage didn't cut out at all (although it's started doing that again).

So it seems like two problems one which seems intermittent where the screen shuts off after being on for 2 seconds, and a white screen.

Can anyone suggest any likely causes for these problems? I assume the panel is fine, and one of the processor boards draws the screen just dies quickly - maybe some component on that board is overheating or something?

I'm new to electronics stuff beyond just building my own computer, so any help or guidance you can offer me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.
