Hi Guys,

I was in my local pc store today and they had a phillips 30in LCD tv running a game demop and it looked great. I had a play on it (windows vista) again it looked and felt great.

I had a look at the properties page and it seemed to be running at 1360*960 (Not sure of the exact figures) and 60hz.

I asked the sales man about it and apparently all the modern LCDs are "built to be computer monitors too"

I also spotted another phillips, a 32inch Full 1080 spec (So can run at a res of 1920*1080 again not sure of the exact figures).

I've been thinking of gettingh a new monitor for a while. I have a 21inch CRT and I'm a bit solw to upgrade to a 24 inch, not big enough, I wanna go big !!

So what's the deal with these ? LCD TVs as monitors ?

Something like this ?

Any help appreciated.

Lower res than a similar sized LCD monitor, that's the difference. Plus input lag can be higher as there's more post-processing of the image going on (mpeg noise reduction, overdrive etc.).
