I know this isnt a lcd tv forum but thought there would be a better chance of an answer here.

The different types of TFT panels are shown in TFT central but I wanted to know what sort of panels (ie PVA etc that Lcd TV's use)particularly the samsung 26" and 32".

Apart from them having tv decoding stuff included are they very similar to there smaller brothers or is it a very different technology?

thankyou

some LCD TV's do use S-PVA / PVA panels as well, and the Samsung models are very likely to being that these technologies are developed by Samsung themselves :) Which models in particular? There are quite a few TV's in the panel database too, but it's mainly for PC TFT's at this stage :)

you're in luck, that one was in the database:

Samsung LE-32R41B, 8ms G2G response time, 32"WS Samsung PVA (LTA320W2) or AU Optronics P-MVA (T315XW01) :D

kind of. Samsung make PVA technology panels, and AUO make P-MVA panel technology. These are just terms to describe how the liquid crystals function and vary in their alignment and operation. They use this principal whether they are making LCD TV's or LCD desktops....so yes, you will see this technology in both sectors. Note that there is some variation, with some manufacturers only making TFT panels, and some making only LCD TV panels, but there is an overlap. Where they do overlap, performance characteristics are similar since their liquid crystal structure is the same and the principals behind their operation are similar
