Hi I am using the new NEC widescreen LCD via DVI port the only problem is the screen only comes on when It gets in to Windows and just show No signal if I try and turn it on before then. But this means I can’t get in to the bios any idea’s how to fix this?

I have same issue with the Belinea widescreen. I guess That the vesa modes in the X800 bios are to strict for the monitor dvi to work with :/. I havent access to any newer ati card to test with unfortunatly to see if it could be the above issue.

Strange. I have the NEC and 7800GTX via DVI and I can see the bios post screen, bios screen and windows loading screen. Everything is stretched (widescreen) to fill the screen and no problems whatsoever.

Yeah, I have the NEC widescreen also connected to my ATI X800 Pro via DVI. No BIOS/POST or XP loading screen. Panel kicks in at the XP logon screen.

I can confirm it works with VGA though. Bit of a pain.

Same PC/Card worked fine with BIOS/POST on the Viewsonic VX2025 (before I sent it back)

Edit: More info

As far as I can see, some particular ATI cards are somewhat affected as here 7800GTX & NEC are working just fine with the bios & low-res VGA mode. It may happen that it's related to the NEC expansion mode. By default set-up, preset is on the "Full" mode. Did you try to disable the expansion mode and see if there is any progress ?!
