As far as i have seen the WRT54GS isn't a VPN end point by default. Is this correct?

The main question is does anyone know third party firmware that provides VPN facilities without losing any or many of the existing features?

My setup is pretty simple: ADSL>Speedtouch 510>10.0.0.0>54GS>Wireless(192.168's).

The features i wanna keep are the ones for the above and the security/ Routing ones.

Talisman lets you set up a simple PPTP server on the router, and so does DD-WRT (which I have switched to using since QoS is broken in Talisman and new releases appear to not be happening).

Doesn't look like there's an option for it in Sveasoft Talisman (1.1/Basic) anyway.

That's an annoyance. Cos the WAG54GS supports VPN clients (5 i think).
And i'd rather not retire the 510 just yet as superfast LLU isn't in my exchange yet and any maxADSL upgrade will work well with the alcatel ADSL chip to get me max speed for my line stats.

also, firmware is free/ very cheap and a VPN firewall isn't.

I do however have a cisco 1721 with IOS 12.1 Will that do IPSEC VPN? I know there is a 1700 series that is advertised as a VPN security router but i don't think i have one of those as it was cheap on ebay.
