Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce

I heard something about them not being allowed to ferment it for as long as they used to due to some food regulations, apparently the thing to do is buy a few bottles and leave them in a dark place for a few months.

This could all be nonsense however.

Interesting, I read something similar, only they said years.

Has this stuff changed at all in recent years, I just tried some and I could hardly taste it, its like its been watered down.

Have you tried Henderson’s Relish? I’ve always preferred it… but I am from Sheffield :D

Not sure if it’s readily available further a field these days, I imagine things have changed and it is since Sainsbury’s etc now stock it.

I have not, but I will certainly try it if I can get it at my local Sainsbury’s. Thank you.

If not send me a message and I’ll post you a bottle for free, then once your hooked I’ll charge you a fortune  but seriously, happy to do so if you want to try and struggle to get it.

Think if you add your post code to the below, you’ll be able to see if your local supermarkets stock it, appears to be all over these days.

Haha thanks, seems my local stocks it, if I get it, I will update how I find It.

On my original post I just like to use these sauces on certain dishes, for example cheese on toast, mince meat and such.

Slow Cookers Stews, Cottage Pie - Any mash, mince, gravy based dishes.

Cheese on Toast, Beans on Toast really good.

I’ve found a few recipes when making tomato based pasta sauces it’s a nice addition, small amount.

Seems your using it right anyway :p

I stopped buying L&P the cost has soared along with Heinz and other big brands.
Just get the supermarket brand now far cheaper don't notice any difference in taste.
