Foxconn officials have confirmed the company's entrance into the graphics market today during Computex Taipei. As part of its announcement, Leadtek will simultaneously withdraw from the VGA manufacturing. Foxconn is the primary original equipment manufacturer partner for Leadtek video cards, and the withdrawal of Leadtek's manufacturing presence is to reduce the cross-over between the two companies. For now Foxconn will only announce NVIDIA graphics cards for the launch.

Leadtek has had a traditionally strong presence for graphics adaptors in the US and Asia, due primarily with its strong manufacturing partnerships. Foxconn is one of the primary reference design manufacturers for NVIDIA, and since the company did not have a retail channel Leadtek traditionally was one of the first to market with NVIDIA components. With the Foxconn-Leadtek ties severed, Leadtek will have to use different component manufacturers for its NVIDIA cards.
Foxconn is also expected to announce an entrance into the ATI graphics market. Foxconn insiders do not have a definite date or time when this will happen, though one product manager described the move to support ATI graphics as "inevitable."

Could be a shame, i always thought Leadtek cards were always reasonably priced compared to some and they nearly always used good copper coolers where others didnt. Lets hope Foxconn keep up that tradition.

That sad to hear :(

I have bought nothing but leadteks whenever i opt for nvidia geforce cards. My experience with them is that tend to have good quality control, normally better stock cooler than your average card and decent end product compared to some of the other brands. :(

I'm shocked tbh... Out of the last 4 cards i've had, 3 have been leadtek cards.. they have always been reliable and well built. I bought them because they have always been competive over other manufacturers.. The only card i bought otherwise was the XFX 6800GT.

Shame.

It's a shame, I loved my Leadtek 6800le when I got it, the huge copper heatsink is great and it looks so much better than the competitor versions.

pitty that....Ive had three or four Leadtek cards...mainly due to them being slighlty cheaper than a lot of other makes....and the performace has been top notch.

Im not really that bothered to be honest at all.

In my experience leadteks support for people in europe is below poor. Three times ive got in contact with them about getting a fan replacement for my 6800GT and im still waiting.
