Had the 6800 vanilla monster clocker and still going strong in a pals pc to this day. Just checked my pics and it looks like my fan was off slightly

Haha no way! if only i could get my hands on a nice x2 4200+ but it's a pity socket 939 CPUs are notoriously hard to get a hold of. Funnily enough we are both still using the same pc 5 years down the line, just goes to show that a strong build can really last. Either that or how cheap we are , i'm guessing a bit of both

i had one of those that broke. for ages it was second in the 3D mark leaderboard in the group of cards that where running on socket A.

it died a horrible burning smell death

also had a 6800le which started with 8/4 pipes and unlocked to 16/6 IIRC. epic cards where those 6800s

actually turns out mine was a GS. same cooler though im sure. and the fan was definetly out of line

I also got one of the LE cards and bios flashed it to unlock the rest of the pipes and it was a brilliant bargain for the time. I think i upgraded it eventually for one of the "new" ati cards which was the X800 for half life 2 haha

I had both a 6800GT and a 6800LE (which I actually downgraded from the GT to!) and both looked very similar iirc to the image in the OP.

Good cards, the 6800LE is still going strong in my Brother in Law's PC.
