Can I just test it with normal tap water? I assume it will be ok as long as I dry it out thoroughly before filling with my coolant?

Flush it out once with DI before sticking it in the loop

If my rad has G1/4 threads, would it be best going for a barb or can I use something like this to give it a neater finish?
