whats this bf2 bug?

i have a saphire x1900xt running 6.5/6.6/6.7 cats with bf2 and latest patch for it with no issues.

Also think the 6.7's have improved framrates a bit. but that could be my imagination.

Its to do with ATI Tool, if you set it to switch from 2D to 3D clocks with anything later tha the 6.3 drivers it just hangs on a black screen when loading BF2.

ahh that'd be why lol,

i dont use it, i just use the clocking tool in ccc, and put the sliders upto full

canna be arsed to clock any higher.

No voltage control though, which is a shame as my x1800xt is watercooled

It also quits back to the desktop randomly, then hangs and I can't get anti-aliasing to work forced or not. Additionally playing videos that use GPU acceleration cause it to hang unless in 2D mode.

Crashes to desktop are actually a bug in BF2, I can't force antialising or AF, I have to turn them on in the game and leave CCC to application decided.

I dont use the 2d/3d switch thing in ati tool. have just been manually switching to my overclocked speeds when need and i still get the bf2 black screen

Yup tried this too and had the same problem. Just using the CCC now, much as I hate it.

I cant even use CCC, it crashes instantly not that I ever managed to overlcock when it used to work.

Its Catalyst Control Centre, the software ATI provides with their drivers for altering all the image quality settings and overclocking and whatnot
