Leaking Capacitors.......

After my recent new build, I'm now shuffling hardware around the house. My son got my last PC build and my daughter is getting his old PC.

Yesterday i removed the trusty 9800pro for a clean up and found 5 capacitors on the Mobo (soltek FRNSL2) had bulged at the top and leaked brown gunge. I know that the tops of these older style chemical capacitors are pre weakened to allow for this. I've never seen it before........

Looks like it's time for the bin for this soltek board.

I've ordered a cheap asrock board so the rest of the hardware doesn't get wasted.

Anyone else ever had this problem on a Mobo ?

It's about 2-3 yrs old now so not in warranty..........

As stated above, I've ordered a new asrock socket A mobo to replace.

I might however source some replacement capacitors and replace them, I've done stuff like that before, just need to get the same spec capacitors.
