Lean to conservatory quote....

After 2 years of putting this off due to time and work constraints..I'm back on it.

I emailed 22 Window and conservatory suppliers this week

Here is my email...

Hi,

Please find attached a picture of the proposed dimensions.

Lean to Conservatory
Grey UPVC Outside only price
Grey UPVC Outside and inside price
Glass Roof
1 X single door


I would appreciate an estimate ASAP I need a supply price and a Installation price

Please note. The wall is already in place so no groundwork is needed just the window, roof and door.

Out of the 22 local companies 4 have responded...

One reply I got was literally this:

"total price to supply and fit would be £9500 inc vat
total price to supply only would be £6500 inc vat"

Manners not when I'm about to drop 9k...

The cost to do the work if brief after our conversation on Friday would be as follows:-

To do with a polycarbonate roof in the anthracite grey would be:- £8425.00 including fitting and vat and the cost to do to including a glass roof would be:- £9875.00. including vat and fitting.

What is putting the other 18 companies off? Is it because the groundwork is in and there is no money to be made on the actual windows , roof and installation...

I'm confused....

(They have given you exactly what you asked for, no less and no more - which sometimes isn't a bad thing with companies :O ).

I guess...He was still nearly 2K over a previous quote...Not sure why?
 
Got a quote from a local Indy

£5100 Cash in anthracite grey

Fitted

Pleased as punch...Hes been down checked it and will fit it at the end of March after completing a current job.
 
This space is basically a 5K dog kennel...A place for the collies to dry off and for muddy boots and raincoats to go.

I won't be sitting in it...The house I built is massive...but the laundry room is not big enough and quite frankly not ideal for dogs to dry off due to size...

I'll probably keep my mountain bike in it rather than walking over the stable block...where my motorbike is..Its basically more space...But its not living space...

Will be fantastic for the winter when I let the dogs out and they get all muddy and wet...

Basically a posh porch. :)
