Learning Korean

G'day Its been ages since I have posted here, been travelling around the globe and stuff,

BUT I am now really wanting to spend next year travelling and working (living?) in Korea, and need some advice from anyone who has done similar*, basically a nice broad how what why where when sorta thing.

I am also learning Korean with the help of my Korean friends here, but any good courses/website/books that can be reccomended would be ace! OR even better advice from fellow learnes/speakers?

The more time I spend with my korean friends here I just love more and more about their country, and the food, its tops! Cheers all!

*- I was thinking of posting here after remembering Baldog is in Korea, only to search and find he is coming home! Still room for one more Brit there then I guess!

Best piece of advice I can ever give you.When you get to korea, distance yourself from the foreign community...Western english teachers in korea are some of the worst people ive ever met..

If you hang out with them, you will become bitter and you will end up hating korea and your experiences..

I think I will be asking lots of questions, but all in good time, I thought you would speak Korean well, pretty well having lived there and all, it's not that hard a language to pick up is it (and what were you doing there anyway?)

I have already distanced myself from the foreigners! In Oz at the moment and 90% of my friends are Korean, so by the time I get to Korea I want to be pretty well assimilated, they are some of the nicest and genuine people I have met and the food is just fab, I don't see myself wanting to be a hard ass pom in Korea, being Korean wins hands down!
