Hi, windows machine here, slowly getting into photography etc, with my DSLR (Nikon D90)

Any help, tips, web sites you recommend to get to grips and learn etc correctly with lightroom 4 (64)

I have been using it a while, have all my photos in it catalogued etc, keyworded.

Just when, like yesterday I took 90 photos at my nephews birthday party. I spent a good 2 hours or so, looking at each photo, then moving the sliders here and there on different options to get what I consider a nice image.

Is this pretty much what you guys all do?

thank you

First i use the library view to select (p key) all the keepers, you can select several pics at a time by using shift key, once i have selected all good pics i turn flagged filter on, this then just shows the pics i have chosen.
Then i go into development module and crop image then i apply a preset which i got from vsco film pack, then i tweek the sliders to get the effect i want, once done i export jpeg to my harddisk and backup to a nas drive.

Just search youtube for lightroom workflow tutorials and lightroom presets for more info.

well I already have been doing all that.

I have my photos on the hard drive
organised in folders

2014
/ john birthday
/ motorbike shows

etc

then I import that folder into lightroom. Check all photos and discard any I am uphappy with. Then put keywords on them. Then go into Develop screen and alter sliders for each photo till i get a desired nice image (in my opinion)

Not used this flag filter yet. So unsure what that is or how it works.

As for presets. I have yet to delve into that. No idea about that bit. Have seen some on the left I think of the develop screen but I think there just B & W presets?

But then, when I have done that. I usually export to desktop folder .JPEG for friends, family, Dropbox etc.

That's an entire LR workflow from start to finish, just enjoy taking more photos and keep doing what you're doing :)
