Any decent books?

http://www.w3schools.com/ i've been using for this. But would really like a proper course..

Anything like the teach yourself ***** in 24hours?

PHP 6 and MySQL 5 for Dynamic Web Sites by Larry Ullman is a great book to learn the essential things about both. It doesn't skimp on the MySQL part either like a lot of books, it has a couple of chapters that study MySQL in isolation before mixing it with PHP.

It won't teach you anything about object oriented programming with PHP but you can move onto that once you know the language basics.

I am currently using the Head First PHP & MySQL book, finding it easy going so far but the info is staying in.

Example PHP Scripts

I particularly recommend the phpfreaks.com forum.
