Question though, how did she manage to end up going the wrong way on the ring? Surely to get onto it you have to pass through a toll gate or something?!

Not if you drive out of the exit gate.

Sorry I am a little confused. I have never been to the ring so I assumed there was only one way on, but I assume you mean literally drive out of the gate that the people would drive into from exiting the ring yes?

There is another entrance to the track part-way round which is used by bikers mainly. I've never used it so can't say how easy it would be to get on the track in the wrong direction from there. From the main entrance I really can't see how they got on the track the wrong way tbh.

That bikers entrance by the cafe deffo points up the hill, its aiming in that direction so to go the wrong way must take special skills

It wasn't the Nordschleife though was it? It was the current track by the sounds of things..

Although how you'd get on that one by mistake, god only knows..
