This is no longer the case. WSOs are learning to fly now, given the nature of their job and the fact that this role will largely become obselete in the near future (~10 years).

Rubbish. I can confirm what Stringy ( A serving RAF Officer ) said earlier in the post. WSO's do not learn to fly aircraft.

Show me a link which states that WSO's learn to fly?

I think you are misinterpreting the 'flying training' conducted by WSO's. At ground school they get similar theory presentations, such as principles of flight etc, as UT pilots. WSO's then undertake 'flying' training, which means they are taught the role they are to undertake when qualified, ie, supporting the pilot, in the air. WSO training is intense enough as it is without the extra stress of learning to pilot an aircraft.
