I’m studying HTML & CSS and at the point where I’m going to be putting together very basic websites. I’m of the opinion that the graphics and images are all created in photoshop – otherwise they are going to look pretty poor using just basic html and css options.

I have no problem with this – however I’m a total novice using Photoshop. I used it once years ago on a friends Mac, which was good. Firstly, what version of photoshop do you recommend me using and also do you know of any books which will assist in topics which I will come across when designing and creating the backgrounds, headers, navigation bars , buttons etc?

I could, but don’t particularly want to go out and buy just any old photoshop book – as I think that would be overkill at this point.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks

J
