In-laws are looking at leasing and i have found a decent deal on hukd:

24 month lease deal Ford Ecosport Diesel Hatchback 1.5 TDCi Zetec 5dr £135pm

8000 miles
(32*90) + 358 (admin fee)/24 = £135

This is with YesLease.

However, we have never leased and i am not sure how it works!

a. Where does the 32*90 figures come from?!

b. The in-laws say they have tried to process the order but the site directs them to lease though finance - is this right?

Shows how naive we are, but aside from the car is ugly it does seem a good deal.

Forget the type of car - it is for 2 x 70 year olds. They are more concerned with the price.

ETA: I see where the 32*90 comes from now. 9+23 plan (32) and the 90 was £90 per month initial offer price, it looks like the price has now gone up to £111.72 per month :(

If you look on contracthireandleasing it shows the deal as a personal contract hire for a stock vehicle:

Ford Ecosport Diesel Hatchback 1.5 TDCi Zetec 5dr

3+23 @ £137.51with £300 doc fee.

Seems cheaper than all the other deals, but for £6 more a month you can get the titanium trim level. Give your local ford dealer a ring and see it they can match it?

good site that! However, i see the deal at:

Ford Ecosport Diesel Hatchback 1.5 TDCi Zetec 5dr

9+23 @ £111.72 with £1305.48 initial payment (incl £300 doc fee).

ETA: I see it now! However, isn't it the same deal? When both deals are divided by a total of 24 months, it works out at around £161 per month.

Figures work out exactly the same as mine, just a different profile.

I'd suggest going round and trying a few different cars out, try some VW Polo's, Citroen DS3, Skoda Fabia/Yeti, Vauxhall Mokka etc and get them to see what they feel comfortable in. Then do some work on that website and see where you can get the best results then play them off with a dealer to see what comes out best.

They don't have time - their motor has just died on them and are now desperate (don't ask me why they let it get to this stage!).

But their old motor has lasted them almost 10years with over 100k on the clock so they haven't done too badly.

But they shouldn't need to take finance out for personal contract hire?

It isnt where i would like to spend/lose £4000 but each to their own.

It doesnt look like the worst lease deal ever though.

Interesting about the 14 days before receiving the car.

The EcoSport is quite a large and high vehicle which is what they are looking for (have difficulty getting into low cars, especially the Peugeot).
