Currently looking at a personal lease on a car and the leasing company has asked me to prove that I get mileage reimbursement from my company for any business mileage.

This isn't an issue for me to prove but I thought it was a bit of an odd request?
 
Personal lease it's none of their business, suspect it's actually a business rate lease? however it won't do any harm to provide the information if you have it
 
I wonder if there is some tax thing going on here where they can claim x miles of business use on it once they get it back from you at the end of the lease?
 
When we leased the Joke they wanted to see that I got a car allowance so I sent them a payslip showing the income, they had 3 types of lease

  • Personal
  • Business
  • Personal with business car allowance

Quite normal with some funders who allow you to receive business prices for personal contracts if you get a car/mileage allowance. Is it a Nissan by any chance?

My sister had it when she leased hers, for some tax reason certain rates are only available on that basis

and as above this was a Nissan too
