Who here knows much about leather sofas? and good places to buy from? looking to get something quite decent, got a max budget of about £2000 - I'd like something nice, but I'm a complete noob with this sort of stuff :D

Are those electric recliners any good? :D and what's stuff from DFS like quality wise? I've been looking at John Lewis, and they have some nice stuff - but I'm unsure about DFS,

I bought one from SCS. I sat on one in the store and the leather was quite stiff. He said they do two types of leather and the other one was much more soft and supple. It was suppose to be better quality, so I assuemed more money, but it wasnt. It was the same price?

I went with that anyway and its really nice. I didnt go electric recliner, just the normal manual system, which did break on one chair, but replaced under warranty.

All in all its been good, over 4 years old now, the leather still looks good and is soft. I've fed it a few times over the years.

Problem is with 2k you will struggle to get a really quality sofa but its too much to spend on junk also.

Personally I would avoid Natuzzi, over priced junk.

E.Schilling (ewald-schillig) and W.Schilling are not bad and you can pick them up cheap on the germany eBay a few of the bigger sellers deliver to the uk also.

Koiner can be found on be found on eBay (especially the german eBay).

Rolf benz and Cor are the top end of stuff and not going to fit int he price but sometimes there are eBay bargains.

After flying to Italy to check out sofas I went for this company.

I can get quite large discounts on their sofa's if anything takes your fancy i can see what they cost for you. I could not be more happy with the sofa I bought.

I just wish I did not spend a small fortune on Natuzzi carp in the other house.

Keep an eye on the clearance section here. They do some proper high end stuff and occasionally you can get a proper bargain: http://chaplins.co.uk/ Worth going round their showroom in Pinner if you can get to London as they'll barter in person. We got something like an extra £2k off the last bit of furniture we bought there and it was significantly cheaper than other UK stockists like Heals.

Thanks guys, I'll check some of this out!

Totally unsure what I want to go with at the moment, but it seems like there's some good options,
