I have a job I'm happy in, good management, co workers and loads to learn in my current role and chances of promotions.

I have applied for another role that's a big pay increase that would be more than even my next promotion could be by quite a big way.
It's also a lot closer to home aswell. And I pick the hours I work with my own schedule as long as the works done.

The only negative in my job is office based and the distance I do each week on Monday to Thursday equals 900 miles. It's roughly 5 hours in the car to get to work and back home 4 days a week.
That does sound a lot to most, but with what I mentioned above it's not a big negative for me.

If I'm lucky to be offered the new job I'm not 100% sure that I'll take it. I'm sorting of holding back as I've never had a job I enjoyed before.

What do you think.i should do?

It can’t be 5 hrs commute each day? Of course it could be, but only doing 900miles a week must mean it’s a slow commute.

Money isn’t everything…unless you’re struggling.

The more you earn, the more you spend. Lol
It's 900 miles from Monday to Thursday.

Is that your current commute as it reads that way to me in the OP?

If that is the case what would the new commute be ?
Yes it is, i do 900 miles in total each week from Monday to Thursday. It takes me about 2 and half hours to get to work and about the same coming home, this is my commute every week.

New commute is a bit harder to work out but I won't be leaving my county of Somerset, it'll be a lot less.

******* hell that OP is difficult to translate! Is your role writing instructions for flat pack furniture?

I think you are doing 225 miles per day, 4 days a week, each day is a 5hr round trip commute?

This...................

That commute alone would be having me looking elsewhere - time is a priceless commodity.
Lol

Zefan got it right about the commute.

Thanks for all your responses, a lot to think about.
If I hated my job it would be a no brainer, but I have had jobs that I hated which makes thinking of leaving my current job harder.
