So I'm out of contract on Virgin and only had 10mbit + phone. A few days ago I call up Virgin to upgrade and change my overall package to something beefier and accidently called just after closing time (8:15pm) and therefore get the message that they are closed and to call back tomorrow -- fair enough, no worries.
Ten minutes later I get a call from Virgin asking if everything is OK, to which I informed the guy that I had actually just tried to call to see about changing my package and so proceeded to go through a long winded call with really disgraceful marketing tactics bordering on lies:
"As you are an excellent long term customer, I will do my very best for you sir... here we go, the price will be £44.55, just for you sir".
"That's the standard price on the internet", i say.
"No it's not, sir, because you are a special kinda guy, and [insert lies here]"
I had to literally tell this guy to stop lying and that I'd call back and get a proper deal tomorrow and had to put the phone down on him as he just wouldn't shut up. I called back the next day, upgraded to what i wanted and got an OK deal. An hour later, Virgin call asking about confirming everything..... won't shut up again, just bla bla bla -- go away already! The next day another call about confirming everything..... Today another call about confirming everything.... I expect now to be woken up at 7am Sunday from another Virgin employee I probably won't be able to understand.
Anyone else had this from Virgin? They are calling WAY too often and it's getting on my nerves
