So I've been thinking for some time now to leave England and resettle in Scotland. I have friends that live in Montrose that will put me up for a bit until I find somewhere more permanent. What's the general life like up there? I'm quite an out doorsy type of person and love a pub etc.. I just want to get away from the hectic London life and the cost of living down here is ridiculous. I am pushing 40, nothing holding me back here so why not... New place new start.

Would love to hear some in depth details and information for resettling up there.

Thanks.

They are English that moved a few years I've asked them and got opinions info etc but I know there are a lot of Scottish folk on here so would be nice to hear a mixture of thoughts from other Scottish people from different parts of Scotland.
It's beautiful and would love to view the Highlands and mountain's.

If you have friends there then why not go and stay for a couple of weeks to get a feel for the place.

Other issue is work, are you looking for a change or can you continue in your role remotely.
Thanks for the replies lads

Yeah that's the plan so far, I work for DPD have done for years and they are happy to relocate me to a depot in Scotland. So all is good. Just want to get away from the south east had enough of it down here to be honest, I've got a nice pot behind me so looking at the best options so like I say I'll stay with my friend and see how it goes. Very excited, never been to Scotland either.
